Arielle Guttman
Discovering the Venus Star Point
Sunday, January 28, 2018
1 pm – 5 pm
Arielle will introduce a new aspect of the planet Venus, one that represents heart and soul united within our beings. This Venus is the Venus Star, produced from the eight-year cyclical pentagram produced by Venus in her orbit around the Sun. This Star Point is easily found and is quickly becoming a most sought-after tool to use to examine one’s most important milestones and achievements. In this workshop you will learn about the Venus Star and discover your own Venus Star Point. Beginners and Professionals welcome.
After introducing the Venus cycle and her Star pattern in a colorful slide show, Arielle will show participants how to utilize their Venus Star Points to answer important questions about their life’s mission, by overlaying their personal pentagram of Venus on their astrological chart wheel. Some prior knowledge of astrology and your chart would be helpful.
Arielle Guttman: Arielle began her astrological studies in 1974 and has since authored five books in the field. Her latest, Venus Star Rising: A New Cosmology for the 21st Century, is the topic of this presentation. Arielle has lectured and taught around the world for various astrological groups. She currently resides in Santa Fe, NM and has a home-study course that offers professional certification in the Venus Star Point. Greg Bogart
Jung, Astrology, and Dreams:
An Experiential Workshop
Sunday, November 12, 2017
1 pm – 5 pm
Jung cast birth charts for his patients and also studied their dreams. Following Jung’s example, this presentation explores the connection between planetary symbols and archetypal figures and themes appearing in our dreams. We’ll consider how dreams reflect celestial symbolism while astrology reveals the internal order and meaning of dreams. Combining astrology and dreams has the power to awaken us emotionally and energetically. Participants are invited to bring a dream along with their natal chart and transits and will be eligible to have their dream/chart used as an example. Preference given to those who pre-register.
Greg Bogart, Ph.D., LMFT, is an astrologer and psychotherapist with offices in Berkeley and Albany, California. He is a lecturer in the department of psychology at Sonoma State University, where he teaches courses in depth psychology and adult developmental psychology. His books include Astrology and Spiritual Awakening (AFA, 2014), Planets in Therapy (Ibis, 2012), Astrology and Meditation (Wessex Astrologer, 2002), In the Company of Sages (Inner Traditions, 2015), Dreamwork and Self-Healing (Karnac, 2009), and his newest work, Dreamwork in Holistic Psychotherapy of Depression (Karnac, 2017. Lecture and Workshop Event
Georgia Stathis
September 24, 2017
Antiscia, Prenatal eclipses, Eclipses & other ‘unseen’ things in the chart.
Lecture : 10 a.m – 12 noon
Workshop: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Antiscia are the mirror images on either side of either the Fall Equinox (00º) or Summer Solstice (00 Cancer) in your chart. They must add up to 30 degrees. For example, if someone has their Sun at 20º Scorpio, their Antiscia (also termed Solstice Point) for the Sun is 10º Aquarius. The sign of Scorpio is closer to 00º Libra rather than 00º Cancer, thus we use that point for measurement. When something like Mars crosses 10º Aquarius in this case, then it is like Mars traveling over your Sun at 20º Scorpio. It is hidden but still may have the same impact. This is information that can be very useful for planning or timing.
Another hidden thing in the chart is the placement of the pre-natal eclipse. Where that is placed is important for unraveling where we are blocked or fearful and where we have an opportunity to break through ‘the sheath of the earth’ as Robert Jansky once wrote. Eclipses are about shadows and unraveling those shadows and breaking through to light.
Usually we can see what is happening in charts with such things as transits, secondary progressions and one of my favorites, solar arcs, but these other pieces can sometimes mean the difference between insight pushing the client to shift or leaving the session with an implied hunger – and not being able to identify it. The Antiscia, placements of the pre-natal eclipses, and where the eclipses are occurring in their charts open the doors to another way of seeing things
Pre-register online by September 21 and send in your birth information (date, time and location) to Georgia and she will bring your Antiscia and natal charts with the pre-natal eclipses in them for you to use during the workshop. Registering early for this event is crucial in order to receive this special chart. However, you can still learn a great deal by coming at the last minute as well. These points can also be found in Solar Fire.

Alexandra Karacostas
Twelve Steps to Chart Analysis
Sunday, August 27, 2017
1 pm – 4 pm
In this presentation, we will discuss horoscope delineation in the western astrological tradition, from a humanistic (person-centered) and trans-personal approach. Astrology is a rich, symbolic, and archetypal language used to understand the world at large as well as the world within. It is the study of nature’s celestial cycles, the mandala of life, from the universal to the personal. There are as many ways to delineate a chart as there are astrologers.
A horoscope is a blueprint of the sky at any given moment and place on earth. The word “horoscope” stems from the Greek, hōroskopos, from hōra ‘time’ + skopos ‘observer’. It is essential to have a good understanding of the language and definition of the planets, signs, and houses. With a feel for the qualities they represent you will be able to make sense of charts.
The method I use has evolved over decades of study and practice, using diverse techniques from various traditions. Take what is useful to you and leave the rest. Above all, try various techniques to find what rings true for you. Discover how this powerful language speaks to you! (more…)
