Georgia Stathis Workshop
Forecasting Trends in Financial Astrology
Some things to look for when…..
SPECIAL EVENT:
Sunday, November 18, 2012
1:00 – 5:00 PM
~~~
FEATURED PLANET: JUPITER*
~~~
Workshop Overview
Forecasting trends for public markets as well as individual charts are quite similar. We use the same techniques, but view them from a larger perspective. When working with money and finances, one cannot just know astrology. They also have to be aware of the greater marketplace and economic realities devoid of politics. This requires focus and objectivity and the ability to contrast and compare graphs with cycles.
Georgia Stathis will be presenting different ways of looking at future financial trends. Some of the topics covered are various financial cycles with a greater focus on the McWhirter or Nodal Cycle (which, of course, runs with the eclipses). In addition, she’ll discuss how to determine what chart to use and what chart not to use, for example, contrasting and comparing an incorporation chart with a first trade chart.
Synodic cycles (a major focus for her upcoming book) which are similar to the Lunation Cycle are discussed and examples shown along with what to look for in Ingress charts with examples of some recent ingresses of the outer planets.
Some of the charts to be explored are the Federal Reserve and New York Stock Exchange chart by David Beazley. If there is time, she may present some information on the differences between residential and land investments–her presentation from UAC 2012.
Attendees: It is suggested you bring both the 20th and 21st century ephemerides for your own edification and “a-ha” experiences.

Shadowlands:
Eclipse Cycles in the Natal Chart
SPECIAL EVENT:
Sunday, July 29, 2012
1:00 – 3:00 PM
~~~
FEATURED PLANET: SUN
~~~
Eclipses are often used in mundane astrology, but their 19-year cycles also offer rich insights into the natal chart. As eclipses move through the houses of the natal chart and aspect natal planets, they describe where you’re currently most interesting — where you are confronting developmental crisis. Which natal patterns currently demand your attention and willingness to change? When have you confronted similar challenges in the past — and how might you handle them more effectively in the present? Join astrologer and author April Elliott Kent for an exploration of natal eclipse cycles, an overview of 2012’s eclipses, and thoughts about what they’ll mean for you.
Including:
- A brief explanation of the Saros and Metonic eclipse cycles
- Interpretations of eclipses in natal houses and in aspect to natal planets
- A demonstration of how to use these cycles to identify and understand crucial turning points in your own life.

Facilitated by Larry Landis and Linda Byrd
FEATURED PLANET: Moon
A June, Moon and Chart Interpretation Afternoon
Our June Sacramento Area Astrologers meeting is a two-fer on the astrological Moon (the Planet
of the Month), followed by a group interpretation of the natal chart of one of our members.
The Moon, Part 2
Apprentices of Astrologer Steven Forrest pick up where they left off last May in sharing their mentor’s wisdom about the Moon. Chet Zdrowski led Part 1. This time, Linda Byrd and Larry Landis share more about the orb that represents our feelings, instincts, moods—and many would say, the sweet side of life. Learn more about yourself by the light of the silvery Moon.

Larry Landis

Linda Byrd
Linda Byrd has been studying Astrology since the mid-80s and has incorporated it into her consulting practice for the past16 years, both for businesses and personal growth. As a “Certified Dream Coach” – a life coach for the soul – Astrology provides a shortcut, an invaluable map, to discover purpose and hidden sabotaging beliefs. She was with the Aspire Foundation for 10 years, an experiential workshop series based on Astrology, has studied with John Ruskell, Tom Lescher, Maurice Fernandez, and is part of Steven Forrest’s Apprenticeship program. She’s attended the UAC, NORWAC, NCGR,ISAR conferences. She loves astrology and is the current VP of our chapter.
Larry Landis: Not surprisingly, with both Venus and Mercury in Gemini, Larry’s interest in astrology began around 1990 when he somehow ran across Linda Goodman’s Love Signs. Noticing a huge correlation between all his relationships and the book’s descriptions, his curiosity was peaked. He was self taught for many years, accumulating many shelves of astrology texts, but began more formal training in 2001 with Tom Lescher and Steven Forrest. Larry has achieved Level II status in Steven Forrest’s Astrology Apprenticeship Program.

Chart Interpretation
Chart Interpretation
Join us in the second half with a group interpretation of one of our member’s charts. Larry Landis and Linda Byrd facilitate. Sharpen your chart interpretation skills and share your insights. With this month’s emphasis on the Moon, we’ll be placing a little more focus on the Moon and it’s Nodes. The presenters will share from the viewpoint of Steven Forrest’s “Evolutionary Astrology”, however, all perspectives are welcome in the conversation about the chart of our featured member.
Our personal chart will be one of our member’s. More information in our emailed newsletter.
IMPORTANT! Chart Interpretation Guidelines. Thank you for becoming familiar with the attached Guidelines for Chart Interpretation Meetings. It is extremely important, especially when looking at personal charts in a group, that we create an atmosphere of safety and non-judgment in helping others learn more about their astrological map. Another key concept is that the owner of the chart is the ultimate authority on what resonates to him or her. These concepts will “go without saying” for many of us, but we’re a group open to the public and individuals vary in their sensitivity to these issues. Thank you for reading the guidelines and following them.
About Chart Interpretation Meetings: Mastery of chart reading skills is where the rubber hits the road, transferring theory to practice in astrology. The Leadership Team felt the addition of this type of meeting in 2012 will serve many purposes:
- Sharpen our skills on what’s important in a chart reading
- Increase our chart synthesis skills
- Increase confidence in our interpretations
- Enjoy the support of others at all ends of the learning spectrum on chart reading in an environment of non-judgment and encouragement
- Get live practice or be the live recipient of pooled astrological knowledge
Here’s how it works: Each month, we’ll read one or two charts–a mundane chart and/or a personal one. Examples of mundane are any event or personality in the news, charts of cities or countries, etc. Personal chart readings will be limited to people on the NCGR-SAA mailing list. We will limit it to one reading a year per person unless there are unused slots. E-mail Joyce if you would like to propose a mundane topic or have your chart read in the group during the last remaining chart interpretation meeting in 2012 on October 28. The October personal reading slot if filled, and as of now, we plan to use the charts of the Presidential candidates for our mundane selections. However, we have a waiting list in case the first individual cancels or is unavailable for any reason. We are also maintaining a waiting list for future chart interpretation meetings in 2013.
* In 2012, all meetings will have a planetary theme. Chart readings will focus on this planet and will encompass as many other aspects of the chart as we have time to interpret.

HORARY ASTROLOGY: Timing events Exactly when?
Horary astrology is predictive astrology at its finest. It contains the basic first principles of astrology in a clear format and is especially suited to answering questions that concern the timing of an event.
When will he call? When will the check arrive? When will the pet dog return home? When will I meet my soul mate?These and similar questions are answerable using the simple techniques offered by the ancient art of horary astrology.

Peter Burns
In this workshop Peter Burns will discuss and explain some of the important techniques used to answer questions on timing in horary astrology.

Myth, Prophecy & the End of Time: Waiting for the Dawn of the Age of Aquarius
We currently stand at the Dawn of the Age of Aquarius. This New Covenant with heaven will bring with it a new vibration and a new attitude toward life. We are leaving behind a period of darkness and misunderstanding, of isolation and ignorance. The role of astrology will be carried by this celestial current to a new ascendancy, as the tide of time turns once again upon a new epoch. We’ll look at how the wise men of old viewed this cultural transformation as they then stood at the threshold of a new age.
This presentation will tie together the ‘End Time’ traditions of various cultures, looking specifically at some Greek Myths, Hindu, Norse, Native American and Mayan sources. For those versed in the various threads which weave the tales of time, there are similar textures which reappear, telling a consistent story. We will examine a few of these, and follow where they lead.

Don Cerow
Don Cerow has been an astrologer since 1972. He holds a BA from the University of Massachusetts, where he graduated in 1976 Magna Cum Laude with a major in Classics, and a minor in Astrology in the Ancient World. He continued his graduate work at both Boston University and Brandeis. In 1983, Don was voted Best Astrologer in the Valley Advocate’s “Best of” series. In 1992, he was the featured speaker before 50 astronomers and physicists in a presentation Don likes to call, “Athena in the Lion’s Den.”
Athena’s Web ran in The Advocate Newspapers from 1984 to 1992. From 1992 until 2010, Don’s work was picked up by the Amherst Bulletin. Since February of 1999, the columnn has been available on-line, and every weekly issue since that date can be found under the ‘Columns Archives’ link. Don is a NCGR Level IV professional astrologer, and has written and produced shows for radio and television. Together with his wife Gail, Don led groups to Belize from 1998 to 2000, studying Mayan medicine and relating tales about the stars. He’s produced two one-hour videos which are available for purchase, Myths, Dragons and the Ages in 2003,
