Jung, Astrology, and Dreams:
An Experiential Workshop

Jung cast birth charts for his patients and also studied their dreams. Following Jung’s example, this presentation explores the connection between planetary symbols and archetypal figures and themes appearing in our dreams. We’ll consider how dreams reflect celestial symbolism while astrology reveals the internal order and meaning of dreams. Combining astrology and dreams has the power to awaken us emotionally and energetically. Participants are invited to bring a dream along with their natal chart and transits and will be eligible to have their dream/chart used as an example. Preference given to those who pre-register.
Greg Bogart, Ph.D., LMFT, is an astrologer and psychotherapist with offices in Berkeley and Albany, California. He is a lecturer in the department of psychology at Sonoma State University, where he teaches courses in depth psychology and adult developmental psychology. Transpersonal Astrology SIG
The Transpersonal Astrology Special Interest Group will focus on growth and spiritually oriented approaches to astrology and is open to a wide variety of systems and viewpoints. We will explore the various ways that astrology can be used on the path of personal growth and evolution. Most sessions will include visualization and meditative practices centered on astrology. As the group develops we can incorporate presentations by members, book discussion nights, planet nights, and member led meditations. Join us for our 2014 Astrodrama and Experiential Astrology Workshop. Experiential Astrology and Astrodrama are ways of acting out the planets in your chart, with the help of others, to give you an experience of how these energies feel and operate inside you and in your life. Experiential astrology takes studying the stars out of a purely mental pursuit to include the body, mind and spirit. Its somatic emphasis offers an opportunity to feel the energies, often accompanied by instant insights. The April/May issue (#168) of The Mountain Astrologer focuses on Experiential Astrology. Within this issue Tom Brady describes: “…in the lexicon of philosophy, ‘experientialism’ is the position that concrete experience is both the origin and ultimate validation of all human knowledge. Composed of two quincunxes and a sextile, the Yod attracts a great deal of attention among astrologers. Often called “The Finger of God,” this pointed-shaped configuration seems to describe fated developments in the astrology chart. One thing is for sure, the Yod requires the highest of a person’s integrity; it deflates arrogance and can only be mastered through sincere humility. Join Maurice for accessible and insightful perspectives on this phenomenon. Maurice goes through all possible Yod placements in the chart, detailing the different evolutionary lessons in each case.
During the short lunch break, we’ll provide a light, catered lunch available at a modest contribution – watch these pages for updates. Lecture Details
Astrological symbols evolve over time, just as people and societies do. How did the Lunar Nodes get “spiritual” in the West? How did the Lunar Nodes get more “psychological” in India? In this presentation we will look at the mythology of the lunar nodes and the development of how they are used in India and in the West; traditional and modern teachings will be explored.
The lunar nodes have been used for many centuries in India; in fact they are considered shadow planets. In the West they have taken an increasingly prominent role. We will explore the cultural influences that have moved in both directions. We will look at the ground breaking teachings of Rudhyar, Jeff Green, Steven Forrest and others that have shaped how the nodal axis is seen in modern astrology. We will also explore the teachings of some modern Indian astrologers who are expanding their tradition, such as Bepin Behari, Komilla Sutton and Prash Trevadi. On the surface there are major differences, but by going deeper we can find some common threads and themes that will help to understand this vital axis.
Chet Zdrowski
Chet Zdrowski began studying astrology in 1977 with the psychological approach of renowned astrologer Richard Idemon and later the transpersonal astrology of Dane Rudhyar and Steve Arroyo. For the past seven years he has studied in Steven Forrest’s Evolutionary Astrology Apprenticeship program, learning a deep fusion of psychological, transpersonal astrology with ancient metaphysics. Chet combines the depth of his understanding of astrology with a strong desire to help people discover their unique gifts and evolutionary paths.

IMPORTANT! Chart Interpretation Guidelines. Thank you for becoming familiar with the attached Guidelines for Chart Interpretation Meetings. It is extremely important, especially when looking at personal charts in a group, that we create an atmosphere of safety and non-judgment in helping others learn more about their astrological map. Another key concept is that the owner of the chart is the ultimate authority on what resonates to him or her. These concepts will “go without saying” for many of us, but we’re a group open to the public and individuals vary in their sensitivity to these issues. About Chart Interpretation Meetings: Mastery of chart reading skills is where the rubber hits the road, transferring theory to practice in astrology. The Leadership Team feels this type of meeting serves many purposes:
