Experiential Astrology and Astrodrama are ways of acting out the planets in your chart, with the help of others, to give you an experience of how these energies feel and operate inside you and in your life. Experiential astrology takes studying the stars out of a purely mental pursuit to include the body, mind and spirit. Its somatic emphasis offers an opportunity to feel the energies, often accompanied by instant insights. The April/May issue (#168) of The Mountain Astrologer focuses on Experiential Astrology. Within this issue Tom Brady describes: “…in the lexicon of philosophy, ‘experientialism’ is the position that concrete experience is both the origin and ultimate validation of all human knowledge. Experiential astrology then, is any form of practice that conveys information through sensory impressions rather than language-mediated intellectual constructs”.
This workshop is for all levels of Astrology lovers. We will explore planetary energies through visualization, movement and sound. We will dress up and act out various aspects of each other’s charts. There is absolutely no acting experience needed, only an open-hearted willingness to explore and play. Beginners will be supported by more seasoned Astrologers but rest assured that this type of exploration is a new experience for everyone involved.

All of the major aspects in your horoscope ideally find resolution through give-and-take, negotiation and the recognition and appreciation of common ground – sextiles share a common gender, squares share modalities, trines partake of the same element and oppositions share gender and modalities. But what do you do when you encounter the quincunx and its sibling the inconjunct in your chart? These minor major or major minor (with apologies to Catch-22!) aspects share absolutely nothing in common! How do you find common ground where there is no common ground? Chart Interpretation
Following the presentation we’ll be looking at the chart of one of our members.
IMPORTANT! Chart Interpretation Guidelines. Thank you for becoming familiar with the attached Guidelines for Chart Interpretation Meetings. It is extremely important, especially when looking at personal charts in a group, that we create an atmosphere of safety and non-judgment in helping others learn more about their astrological map. Another key concept is that the owner of the chart is the ultimate authority on what resonates to him or her. These concepts will “go without saying” for many of us, but we’re a group open to the public and individuals vary in their sensitivity to these issues. Thank you for reading the guidelines and following them.
About Chart Interpretation Meetings: Mastery of chart reading skills is where the rubber hits the road, transferring theory to practice in astrology. The Leadership Team feels this type of meeting serves many purposes:

We are all here to develop greater awareness about ourselves and the world.
Eric will introduce a spiritual approach to the Sun and Moon, seeing them in terms of awakening from unconsciousness. He will illustrate that there is a personal level in understanding them, but also a transpersonal one. Then, we’ll explore how the major planets function differently depending on the consciousness we bring to them. Every planet can be in service to the ego or the soul. Are we going to use astrology to cooperate with nature, or only to see to our self-interests?

Eric Meyers has an M.A. in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology (Naropa University in Boulder, CO), and is a graduate of the Steven Forrest Apprenticeship program. With a focus on spiritual awakening, he is forging a career as a unique voice for evolutionary growth. Eric released his latest book, The Astrology of Awakening, in 2012. Other works include Elements & Evolution: The Spiritual Landscape of Astrology, Uranus: The Constant of Change, and Between Past & Presence: A Spiritual View of the Moon & Sun.
