Erik Roth
Shamanic Astrology
An Introduction
Sunday, June 24, 2018
1 pm – 3:30 pm
Shamanic Astrology, developed in the 1980s by Daniel Giamario, is a paradigm without judgment and has roots in the experiential nature of the sky. It is holistic, honoring the totality of light and shadow with us all and makes use of the archetypal knowledge from Jung in relation to the 12 signs. Shamanic Astrology takes a fresh and revolutionary look at the natal chart and we embody it in our lives. The Ascendant represents our incoming identity and the Moon our old identity, as examples of how it shows up within us all.
I will cover the major principles of Shamanic Astrology in this presentation, along with a brief look at what differentiates Shamanic Astrology from mainstream western astrology. I will also cover briefly cover how the elements and modalities are seen, including why this paradigm is called “Shamanic” astrology. Secondarily, I will share about how cycles/transits are seen as “initiations”, helping to move us from one phase of life to another or “initiating” us in the mysteries of that planetary process as we evolve into who we are intended to be in this lifetime.
Erik Roth has been a professional astrologer since 2010 and has studied Shamanic Astrology since 2004. He became a certified Shamanic Astrologer in 2011 through the Shamanic Astrology Mystery School. He has held classes online and in-person on Shamanic Astrology in Portland and Tucson as well as presented at local fairs in Oregon, California and Arizona since 2010.
In 2012, he became the Managing Director and Treasurer of SAMS and continues that position in the present day. Between 2013 and 2014, Erik hosted an astrological monthly meetup group, developed new material about Vesta and has an ongoing webinar series he co-facilitates with Daniel Giamario focused on the Mars cycles since 2014. He is launching a new Mars Webinar Series beginning in July, 2018 at the onset of the Mars-Sun Opposition. inspiralnexus@gmail.com

Two-Part Lecture and Workshop Event
A.T. Mann
April 22, 2018
Lecture : 10 a.m – 12 noon
Workshop: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Morning Lecture:
A New Vision of Astrology
Astrology describes your psychology and sense of self based on your birth chart. However, essential events in your life and relationships begin in the 9th house of the chart, when your mother and father conceive you. A New Vision of Astrology describes the circumstances and implications of your earliest and most deeply embedded experiences from then until birth on the Ascendant (rising sign), and maps events and their implications beyond, through your life up to the present, and ahead into your future. These earliest times are not even discussed in traditional astrology, but they are especially important as they are the deep patterns of your creativity, biology, sexuality and psychology. They are also a key to your potential transcendence.
Afternoon Workshop:
Conception + Gestation + Birth = Creativity
Life is a process in time. Gestation influences are the core of your biology, the collective unconscious, are deeply buried, and affected by your parents’ relationship, and provide patterns that are somatic — built into your body. Indeed, the nature of their relationship during gestation is mirrored in your own relationships and more importantly, in your creativity. We will look at the gestation process and track it through your charts and show you how this affects your creativity and what to do about it. Through your childhood, into maturity and up to the present, and into the future, you are navigating your lifetime. Also included is information about the Autism spectrum and how it all relates. Send in your birth information now (date, time and location) and bring your chart! Tad will prepare a Life Time list of dates for everyone attending the workshop! (more…)

Saturn, Karma and Your Life Cycles
Sunday, February 25, 2018
1 pm – 3:30 pm
NEW LOCATION: LIGHTWEAVER’S ACADEMY
The astrological symbolism of Saturn is far more complex and multifaceted than many commonly believe. Time, matter, karma and limitations are woven into the fabric of Saturn, and each of these threads leads us into some fascinating, helpful territory. Far from something to avoid or be fearful about, Saturn is a major key to happy living and fulfillment.
Saturn connects our daily lives and our inner lives in some surprising ways, we’ll explore how to deepen and work with these connections and how to move past some of our unnecessary limitations.
The ringed planet is involved in a number of powerful cycles that structure how our lives unfold. We’ll use example charts and charts of audience members to show how to use these cycles both in readings and in our own lives.
Chet Zdrowski has been a student and practitioner of astrology since 1977. He studied for several years with the late Richard Idemon, and is deeply influenced by the work of Dane Rudhyar and Robert Hand. Since 2005 he has studied with Steven Forrest in his Evolutionary Astrology Apprenticeship program. Psychology, meditation, perennial philosophy and music are also lifelong passions. Chet’s approach is grounded in the real-world experiences of parenting, marriage, business and the work world. His greatest pleasure is to alert people to their unique gifts, to inspire them to move forward on their unique individual path, and to help them move through the patterns that limit them and cause unhappiness. Chet is also the founder and leader of the “Transpersonal Astrology Group” that meets in Fair Oaks CA. You can reach Chet at www.czastrology.com.

Greg Bogart
Jung, Astrology, and Dreams:
An Experiential Workshop
Sunday, November 12, 2017
1 pm – 5 pm
Jung cast birth charts for his patients and also studied their dreams. Following Jung’s example, this presentation explores the connection between planetary symbols and archetypal figures and themes appearing in our dreams. We’ll consider how dreams reflect celestial symbolism while astrology reveals the internal order and meaning of dreams. Combining astrology and dreams has the power to awaken us emotionally and energetically. Participants are invited to bring a dream along with their natal chart and transits and will be eligible to have their dream/chart used as an example. Preference given to those who pre-register.
Greg Bogart, Ph.D., LMFT, is an astrologer and psychotherapist with offices in Berkeley and Albany, California. He is a lecturer in the department of psychology at Sonoma State University, where he teaches courses in depth psychology and adult developmental psychology. His books include Astrology and Spiritual Awakening (AFA, 2014), Planets in Therapy (Ibis, 2012), Astrology and Meditation (Wessex Astrologer, 2002), In the Company of Sages (Inner Traditions, 2015), Dreamwork and Self-Healing (Karnac, 2009), and his newest work, Dreamwork in Holistic Psychotherapy of Depression (Karnac, 2017. Alexandra Karacostas
Twelve Steps to Chart Analysis
Sunday, August 27, 2017
1 pm – 4 pm
In this presentation, we will discuss horoscope delineation in the western astrological tradition, from a humanistic (person-centered) and trans-personal approach. Astrology is a rich, symbolic, and archetypal language used to understand the world at large as well as the world within. It is the study of nature’s celestial cycles, the mandala of life, from the universal to the personal. There are as many ways to delineate a chart as there are astrologers.
A horoscope is a blueprint of the sky at any given moment and place on earth. The word “horoscope” stems from the Greek, hōroskopos, from hōra ‘time’ + skopos ‘observer’. It is essential to have a good understanding of the language and definition of the planets, signs, and houses. With a feel for the qualities they represent you will be able to make sense of charts.
The method I use has evolved over decades of study and practice, using diverse techniques from various traditions. Take what is useful to you and leave the rest. Above all, try various techniques to find what rings true for you. Discover how this powerful language speaks to you! (more…)
