Many astronomers say astrology is nonsense because the tropical Signs do not align to the constellations as they did in Hellenistic times. Astrologers often respond by claiming the tropical archetypes are about seasonal energies, not about constellations, but if this is so we should flip the Signs for the southern hemisphere and we don’t. If the Tropical Zodiac is not of the Stars and not of the Seasons, then just what in the Heaven’s is it? In this ground-fixing presentation, Gemini Brett solves this riddle by presenting the Directional Zodiac. You will leave this talk with knowledge that will not only assist you in defending the Tropical Zodiac from astronomer’s attacks, but will empower you with the knowledge of the beautiful astronomical concepts it seems they have chosen to forgot. Most importantly, a deeper connection to the sacred astronomy of astrology will expand your archetypal awareness, deepen your delineations, and offer an antenna that will allow you to receive direct transmissions from the ancient wisdom traditions.
“Wow, just wow! Gemini is a powerful speaker, storryteller, weaver of myths, legends, lore, and science. His talk was spellbinding and really made me understand and feel my connections to the stars and planets. Wonderful presentation!” – Suzanne A., Denver, CO(more…)

Learning astrology is usually a left-brained activity. We show up, take copious notes and try to understand what we learned. This workshop is different! Whether you are brand new to astrology or a gifted professional, through this interactive format you will discover new insights as to how your beliefs, behaviors and judgements have been silently running your life. These different parts make up your “inner committee.” Some are guiding you to exactly where you want to be and some may be sabotaging you, keeping you feeling unfulfilled and stuck. Where did these thoughts come from, why are they there and how can you bring harmony to your life? This workshop provides an avenue for a deeper exploration into who you are, what gifts you possess and how to best turn limiting beliefs into tools of empowerment.
Saturn/Pluto Cycles and the Great Conjunction of January 2020
Already in process and much talked about, the Saturn/Pluto conjunction beast is a force to be reckoned with. Yet, with the exact conjunction ahead of us in January 2000, do we really understand what this conjunction is about? What the spiritual intentions are? From an evolutionary Astrology point of you, we aim at getting to the bottom line, the “why!”
Maurice will explore this dynamic and review the different expressions of this cycle through the course of history.
We will talk about the effect of this conjunction through the houses.
Workshop:
Relationships in Astrology
We all need answers in our love lives, and Astrology is there to deliver! The natal chart and transits provide deep insights into our relationship dynamics and lessons. How can we identify the wide range of needs, from celibacy to stormy passion, and life long commitment? Maurice will include the role asteroid Juno in this paradigm.

From the moment that we take our first breath we have joined in a dance with the great celestial clock that is our solar system. Just as we can see the hands move on a clock, we can see (either with our eyes or a telescope) the planets transiting around us. But what about the gears inside that we can’t see, the movement behind the movement. That is what progressions are all about.
Join us this afternoon as Larry Landis explains and differentiates the three most common types of progressions used in astrology today; the secondary, tertiary and minor progressions.
Larry Landis has been studying astrology since the early 1990’s, when he happened upon Linda Goodman’s “Love Signs”. After years of self-study, he began his formal study under Tom Lescher (Kaypacha) and then completed Level Two of Steven Forrest’s Astrological Apprenticeship Program. Larry is an active member and treasurer of NCGR-Sacramento Area.

Astrology, Alchemy and Magic were once part of an integrated tradition. We can see the practical aspects of magic in Culpeper’s herbal remedies. But Astrology also has a lost tradition of planetary magic that is still widely practiced today, though little known in the astrology community! We’ll go over some simple techniques such as using planetary day and hours along with colors and herbs of the planets as well as more advanced techniques like using magic squares and sigils to make planetary talismans. It was wonderful to get together for our yearly Winter Sostice celebration for a luncheon. As usual, the time slipped by way too fast, and this year we somehow skipped our main ceremony, which was the sacred calling in of the four directions, led by Mariscela Alvarez and Theodore Upton. Still, I'm sure we were blessed because we all loved being together for this meaningful event. Thank you to Samantha Morgan, our new treasurer, for counting all the money and taking all the photos! ... See MoreSee Less
