AND CHART INTERPRETATION
Sunday, June 28, 2015, 1:00 – 4:00 pm
FEATURED PLANET*: Moon
Learning Astrology is usually a left brained activity. We show up, take copious notes and then try to remember what we learned. THIS WORKSHOP IS DIFFERENT! You will be involved in getting to know yourself through the lens of Astrology, from a feeling perspective. Find out what’s lurking in your psyche, shed light on and address what Steven Forrest so eloquently states as a fundamental issue we all face.
“Who we really are is in conflict with our social conditioning. The psyche demands resolution of this schism and the resolution is typically quite dramatic. There is resentment regarding other people’s expectations and a desire to avoid being defined by them. The universe is asking us exactly what price we’ll pay for honesty, integrity and freedom. ” ~Steven Forrest
While understanding is part of the solution, engaging feelings gives a deeper level of awareness and the key to freedom! Depending on how much time we have, these are some of the questions we will be addressing:
- When you act like this, what are you avoiding?
- How do you want people to perceive you? Why?
- What makes you most happy? Experience your tribe!
- What inner voice holds you back?

Special Two-Part Event
Frank Clifford
February 22, 2015
Lecture: 10 a.m – 12 noon
Jupiter: It’s Too Much – But Is It Enough?
Workshop: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
The Rhythms of Your Life: Honing Your Forecasting Skills
Lecture and Workshop Details
LECTURE: Jupiter: It’s Too Much – But Is It Enough?
Jupiter reveals how and where we’re blessed – so much so that we can inspire others with its message. But can Jupiter be too much of a good thing? Frank will look at the charts of people with a prominent Jupiter to gauge its wide range of expression in temperament and manifestation. From the evangelist and guru to the con artist, from the philanthropist to the diva, we’ll examine the various exemplary and sinister sides to the Greater Benefic.
WORKSHOP: The Rhythms of Your Life: Honing Your Forecasting Skills
As consultant astrologers, rather than using forecasting tools to make firm predictions, we do our best work when we articulate the processes that can take place under various transits, progressions or directions. If you’ve ever been daunted or overwhelmed by forecasting, this seminar will offer a number of tools (including ‘Define and Connect’) to simplify the process of interpreting upcoming trends, and Frank will address a number of factors to take into consideration. Along the way, he’ll introduce you to the most reliable and accurate forecasting tool, Solar Arc Directions, and show you how to use these simply and effectively to achieve maximum results. You’ll be amazed!
Lunch Options
Between the lecture and workshop, we’ll provide a light, catered lunch available at a modest contribution of $10. Lunch will be light as many of you will want to join us to take Frank out at the Yard House for dinner after the workshop. You are also welcome to bring your own lunch, if you prefer. Sign up for lunch and or make your reservation for dinner below.

Frank Clifford Over the past twenty-five years, Frank Clifford has built an eclectic career as a consultant, publisher, columnist, media astrologer, lecturer, and a writer of a dozen books, including his textbook Getting to the Heart of Your Chart. Frank lives in England, where he runs The London School of Astrology (www.londonschoolofastrology.co.uk) and teaches astrology and palmistry in person and online. He writes for The Mountain Astrologer and guest-edited five recent issues. In 2012, Frank became the thirteenth (and youngest) recipient of The Charles Harvey Award, a lifetime achievement award for ‘exceptional service to astrology’. www.flareuk.com (website), info@flareuk.com
Frank is offering consultations on Monday, Feb. 23
An astro-palmistry consultation in person lasts 90 mins, is recorded for you (on MP3), costs $180, and will take place at Frank’s hotel (details can be emailed). Frank looks at your hands and horoscope and also considers the next year or so ahead. He doesn’t tell you ‘what’s going to happen’ or tell you ‘what to do’; it is an opportunity to look at your character, needs, drives, as well as your current path – and/or to look at a specific area of your life. It is not about ‘predictions’. With context, you can work with Frank to look at where you’re at, where you want to go and what you need – and he will look at what the hands and horoscope have to say about these things. Frank also practises Electional Astrology (electing the best start time for a venture) and Locational Astrology (the most fortuitous places to be in America or worldwide). Before arriving, have a think about what you would like to discuss and come with questions because 90 mins goes quickly! Email Frank at info@flareuk.com to sign up!
And, last but not least, Frank has sent three articles for your reading pleasure:

Workshop Details
Join us for our 2014 Astrodrama and Experiential Astrology Workshop. Experiential Astrology and Astrodrama are ways of acting out the planets in your chart, with the help of others, to give you an experience of how these energies feel and operate inside you and in your life. Experiential astrology takes studying the stars out of a purely mental pursuit to include the body, mind and spirit. Its somatic emphasis offers an opportunity to feel the energies, often accompanied by instant insights. The April/May issue (#168) of The Mountain Astrologer focuses on Experiential Astrology. Within this issue Tom Brady describes: “…in the lexicon of philosophy, ‘experientialism’ is the position that concrete experience is both the origin and ultimate validation of all human knowledge. Experiential astrology then, is any form of practice that conveys information through sensory impressions rather than language-mediated intellectual constructs”. (more…)

Nodes: East & West Views / Chart Interpretation
Lunar Nodes: Evolution of Eastern and Western Views
and Chart Interpretation (2nd house*)
Facilitated by Chet Zdrowski
Sunday, April 27, 2014, 1:00-3:30 pm
$5- NCGR/SAA Members, $15 – Nonmembers
Lecture Details
Astrological symbols evolve over time, just as people and societies do. How did the Lunar Nodes get “spiritual” in the West? How did the Lunar Nodes get more “psychological” in India? In this presentation we will look at the mythology of the lunar nodes and the development of how they are used in India and in the West; traditional and modern teachings will be explored.
The lunar nodes have been used for many centuries in India; in fact they are considered shadow planets. In the West they have taken an increasingly prominent role. We will explore the cultural influences that have moved in both directions. We will look at the ground breaking teachings of Rudhyar, Jeff Green, Steven Forrest and others that have shaped how the nodal axis is seen in modern astrology. We will also explore the teachings of some modern Indian astrologers who are expanding their tradition, such as Bepin Behari, Komilla Sutton and Prash Trevadi. On the surface there are major differences, but by going deeper we can find some common threads and themes that will help to understand this vital axis.

Chet Zdrowski
Chet Zdrowski began studying astrology in 1977 with the psychological approach of renowned astrologer Richard Idemon and later the transpersonal astrology of Dane Rudhyar and Steve Arroyo. For the past seven years he has studied in Steven Forrest’s Evolutionary Astrology Apprenticeship program, learning a deep fusion of psychological, transpersonal astrology with ancient metaphysics. Chet combines the depth of his understanding of astrology with a strong desire to help people discover their unique gifts and evolutionary paths.

Chart Interpretation
Following the presentation on Lunar Nodes, we’ll be looking at the chart of one of our members. Join our mailing list to receive more chart details.
IMPORTANT! Chart Interpretation Guidelines. Thank you for becoming familiar with the attached Guidelines for Chart Interpretation Meetings. It is extremely important, especially when looking at personal charts in a group, that we create an atmosphere of safety and non-judgment in helping others learn more about their astrological map. Another key concept is that the owner of the chart is the ultimate authority on what resonates to him or her. These concepts will “go without saying” for many of us, but we’re a group open to the public and individuals vary in their sensitivity to these issues. Thank you for reading the guidelines and following them.
About Chart Interpretation Meetings: Mastery of chart reading skills is where the rubber hits the road, transferring theory to practice in astrology. The Leadership Team feels this type of meeting serves many purposes:
- Sharpen our skills on what’s important in a chart reading
- Increase our chart synthesis skills
- Increase confidence in our interpretations
- Enjoy the support of others at all ends of the learning spectrum on chart reading in an environment of non-judgment and encouragement
- Get live practice or be the live recipient of pooled astrological knowledge

Lecture Details
Western. Indian. Uranian. Traditional. Psychological. Evolutionary. There isn’t one astrology out there, there are many. When things go well, the astrologer and client (or student and teacher) are speaking the same language. Part of that is mystical, synchronistic, or just plain luck, but there is another dimension that we don’t often consider: consciousness. Join Armand Diaz for a fascinating and fun ride through the history of consciousness, making stops along the way to discover the homes of various astrologies. In no time at all you’ll see why you are drawn to a particular kind of astrology, and why you can do astrology for some people and not others. And, as a bonus, you’ll even learn the many meanings of the moon in the 3rd house!

* In 2013, each meeting will have a featured sign for attendee introductions. So, besides your name, you can share (if you like) what planets you have in the planet of the month, what house it falls in and any major aspects. Since we have this valuable tool, it’s a fun way to get to know one another at a deeper level.

This workshop is for all levels of Astrology lovers. We will explore planetary energies through visualization, movement and sound. We will dress up and act out various aspects of each other’s charts. There is absolutely no acting experience needed, only an open-hearted willingness to explore and play. Beginners will be supported by more seasoned Astrologers but rest assured that this type of exploration is a new experience for everyone involved.

Remy Lindsey R.N. is a Professional Astrologer who has been on a quest for healing through body mind spirit practices for over 30 years. She has studied and taught Somatics and Visualization. Quotes from participants in our Open House astrodrama preview:
“I am so very glad that I volunteered to do the Astrodrama and am continuing to reap the benefits of playing Joyce’s Capricorn Moon. My own natal Moon is my least aspected planet, so in typical astrological blindness to my own chart, I’ve always blamed all my fear issues on my Cancer Sun. After allowing my own Capricorn Moon to finally express itself through my Leo Asc. (an inconjunct is never easy), I’ve come to realize that almost all of my deep-seeded fears and anxieties actually rest in my Moon. ”
“From the time I consented to play Uranus, I felt “his buzz” and incessant ideas about how to help our “subject” break free filled my head. “
“For me, there was a feeling of surprise about what actually came out of my mouth in relationship to the other “planets.” It showed me a part of myself that I’m less aware of on a daily basis, and it wasn’t particularly comfortable, but it was very Scorpionic. I seemed to be saying, “you lightweight Librans buck up and get down to the work of opening to deeper change, rather than a more superficial desire to be liked and have fun.” I never thought I, Kate, would say that I had a better relationship with Capricorn energy than Libran, but that’s how it played. I felt very supportive of Joyce’s Moon and the seriousness of its intent. So I was transported out of my more typical experience of myself and I found that most valuable. “
“I felt burdened with the responsibility of being Mercury. It was so easy to be superficial with words, just as it is in life“.
Joyce Mason volunteered to have us “play out” a challenging aspect in her chart and this is how it felt for her, “I had become so used to the dysfunctional family of the planets squaring my Moon and having to cope with them creatively and constantly, I didn’t even realize how much fear and anxiety my Capricorn Moon constantly processes. Of course, with Neptune one of the Square Players, my awareness was bound to be a little murky … but awareness is the key to overcoming. I have been popping insights ever since about how much fear exhausts my energy supply. I am already noticing fear faster and starting to assess whether it’s based on anything real. Very liberating. Many thanks to Remy and the Astrodrama players!“
