Pluto and the Chart of the USA
The Shifting Power Relationships among the People, the Government and Corporations
SPECIAL EVENT:
Sunday, September 23, 2012
1:00 – 3:00 PM
~~~
FEATURED PLANET: VENUS
~~~
Pluto has returned to the USA’s natal sign of Capricorn for the first time in our nation’s history but won’t reach its birth position of 27 degrees until 2022. A country with Pluto in Capricorn has a power base that defaults to corporations and their influence on government without intervention by the people and their advocates.
In astrology, Pluto works at a global level eventually giving the masses what they need to know to correct power inequities. First, he puts everyone through a long slow roll giving them time to feel the impact of power imbalances related to the sign he occupies. His intent isn’t to kill us individually, although it can sure feel like it—and at times we wish he would. Instead, he exposes what power inequities are killing us through collective thought and action, relative to the sign he’s in, ultimately providing opportunities for rebalancing power.
So what is Pluto’s first birthday in the USA chart going to provide us? Astrology helps us look forward, supported by looking backward at the progression of events fueled by Pluto. This eye-opening presentation traces Pluto through each astrological sign to show the shifting power dynamics in historical context, who is impacted, and what corrective measures are/were taken and implications for the future.

Georgia Stathis Workshop
Forecasting Trends in Financial Astrology
Some things to look for when…..
SPECIAL EVENT:
Sunday, November 18, 2012
1:00 – 5:00 PM
~~~
FEATURED PLANET: JUPITER*
~~~
Workshop Overview
Forecasting trends for public markets as well as individual charts are quite similar. We use the same techniques, but view them from a larger perspective. When working with money and finances, one cannot just know astrology. They also have to be aware of the greater marketplace and economic realities devoid of politics. This requires focus and objectivity and the ability to contrast and compare graphs with cycles.
Georgia Stathis will be presenting different ways of looking at future financial trends. Some of the topics covered are various financial cycles with a greater focus on the McWhirter or Nodal Cycle (which, of course, runs with the eclipses). In addition, she’ll discuss how to determine what chart to use and what chart not to use, for example, contrasting and comparing an incorporation chart with a first trade chart.
Synodic cycles (a major focus for her upcoming book) which are similar to the Lunation Cycle are discussed and examples shown along with what to look for in Ingress charts with examples of some recent ingresses of the outer planets.
Some of the charts to be explored are the Federal Reserve and New York Stock Exchange chart by David Beazley. If there is time, she may present some information on the differences between residential and land investments–her presentation from UAC 2012.
Attendees: It is suggested you bring both the 20th and 21st century ephemerides for your own edification and “a-ha” experiences.

Shadowlands:
Eclipse Cycles in the Natal Chart
SPECIAL EVENT:
Sunday, July 29, 2012
1:00 – 3:00 PM
~~~
FEATURED PLANET: SUN
~~~
Eclipses are often used in mundane astrology, but their 19-year cycles also offer rich insights into the natal chart. As eclipses move through the houses of the natal chart and aspect natal planets, they describe where you’re currently most interesting — where you are confronting developmental crisis. Which natal patterns currently demand your attention and willingness to change? When have you confronted similar challenges in the past — and how might you handle them more effectively in the present? Join astrologer and author April Elliott Kent for an exploration of natal eclipse cycles, an overview of 2012’s eclipses, and thoughts about what they’ll mean for you.
Including:
- A brief explanation of the Saros and Metonic eclipse cycles
- Interpretations of eclipses in natal houses and in aspect to natal planets
- A demonstration of how to use these cycles to identify and understand crucial turning points in your own life.

Horary astrology is predictive astrology at its finest. It contains the basic first principles of astrology in a clear format and is especially suited to answering questions that concern the timing of an event.
When will he call? When will the check arrive? When will the pet dog return home? When will I meet my soul mate?These and similar questions are answerable using the simple techniques offered by the ancient art of horary astrology.

Peter Burns
In this workshop Peter Burns will discuss and explain some of the important techniques used to answer questions on timing in horary astrology.

Myth, Prophecy & the End of Time: Waiting for the Dawn of the Age of Aquarius
We currently stand at the Dawn of the Age of Aquarius. This New Covenant with heaven will bring with it a new vibration and a new attitude toward life. We are leaving behind a period of darkness and misunderstanding, of isolation and ignorance. The role of astrology will be carried by this celestial current to a new ascendancy, as the tide of time turns once again upon a new epoch. We’ll look at how the wise men of old viewed this cultural transformation as they then stood at the threshold of a new age.
This presentation will tie together the ‘End Time’ traditions of various cultures, looking specifically at some Greek Myths, Hindu, Norse, Native American and Mayan sources. For those versed in the various threads which weave the tales of time, there are similar textures which reappear, telling a consistent story. We will examine a few of these, and follow where they lead.

Don Cerow
Don Cerow has been an astrologer since 1972. He holds a BA from the University of Massachusetts, where he graduated in 1976 Magna Cum Laude with a major in Classics, and a minor in Astrology in the Ancient World. He continued his graduate work at both Boston University and Brandeis. In 1983, Don was voted Best Astrologer in the Valley Advocate’s “Best of” series. In 1992, he was the featured speaker before 50 astronomers and physicists in a presentation Don likes to call, “Athena in the Lion’s Den.”
Athena’s Web ran in The Advocate Newspapers from 1984 to 1992. From 1992 until 2010, Don’s work was picked up by the Amherst Bulletin. Since February of 1999, the columnn has been available on-line, and every weekly issue since that date can be found under the ‘Columns Archives’ link. Don is a NCGR Level IV professional astrologer, and has written and produced shows for radio and television. Together with his wife Gail, Don led groups to Belize from 1998 to 2000, studying Mayan medicine and relating tales about the stars. He’s produced two one-hour videos which are available for purchase, Myths, Dragons and the Ages in 2003,

New location for 2012 – The Reserves at the Galleria – 501 Gibson Drive, Roseville
Our Big News:
The December meeting will be our last at Planet Earth Rising.
As you might imagine, this was a difficult decision for the LT, given the beautiful and welcoming ambiance of PER. However, if you were at the September or October meetings, the need is obvious. We’re bursting at the seams. To keep our organization vital, it needs to have room to grow. A secondary reason was our need to change to the 4th Sunday,
when PER is not available in the time slot we need. The switch to the 4th Sunday allows us to take advantage of tandem speaker opportunities with San Francisco Astrology Society (SFAS), which meets on the 4th Thursday.
We’ll have many more details for you in this month’s e-mails and at the meeting, but here’s the rub. Co-Treasurer Betty O’Hara was able to arrange for us to meet in her condo clubhouse, located in Roseville, just behind the Galleria Mall. Address, maps and condo gate access code will be available to you, including a handy biz-sized card for your wallet to remind you which numbers to punch to get into the gate. The space is light, roomy, there’s ample parking, and it has both a kitchen and onsite storage. This will enable us to leave our equipment and save the LT the burden of transporting it to every meeting, which risks damage to our backs and our techno-tools. Not only that, there’s a dramatic overall cost savings in rental fees. Here are some preview pictures.
New Meeting Location as of January 22, 2012
The Reserves at The Galleria Clubhouse
501 Gibson Drive, Roseville, CA
Parking across the street in the Shea Business Center
NOTE: We are not affiliated with the Reserves condominium complex,
for community related questions please contact The Reserves at the Galleria directly.
Change is difficult for all of us, and I know that for some of you, the Galleria area location will actually seem farther–and for a few of you, it might actually be a bit of a longer drive. It’s two miles closer than Planet Earth Rising, measuring from the a midpoint in downtown Sacramento.(I chose 15th & K). It’s simply off the I-80 rather than I-50 corridor.
We really need your support to keep an open mind and willingness to learn a slightly new routine and location. We’re not sure the condo clubhouse is the solution for the long-term, but for the short-term, it has so many perks; we felt it was essential to try it for 2012 to see if it meets our needs for this stage of our development. If not, we’ll continue to look for our more permanent home.
We are so grateful to Planet Earth Rising for its support in our first year-plus, we are honoring Paula, Darrell and Staff with a small gift from our group at approximately 1:30 pm, during the meeting and potluck. They have been completely understanding about our growth needs, and we hope to partner with them, again, in the future for events when a smaller venue works for us.
Grateful for our past and excited about our future,
Joyce
